Operation Sottens

Sottens is a small village in the French speaking part of Switzerland, halfway between Bern and Geneva. Nearby this village you will find the antennas of the last medium wave broadcast transmitter. It stopped its emissions on 765kHz at the end of last year.

Recently a group of Swiss Amateurs Radio Operators (Radioamateur Vaudois, club call HB9MM) got the permission to use the antennas for their purpose.

They intend to set up stations for 160, 80 and 2200 meters. A demand for the use of the 600m Band is still pending.

Operation is scheduled for end of January and February.

Visit this Blog frequently for more information about schedule and frequencies.
